A street tree advisory committee (“committee”) is hereby established. The committee shall consist of no less than eight and no more than twelve members. Members of the committee shall be appointed by the mayor with the approval and consent of the city council and shall have staggered terms. The terms of the members will be established when they are appointed by the mayor but will never exceed four years at any one appointment. The committee will have the following groups represented: downtown businesses, citizens, utility companies, public works department, parks department, park board, forest board, a tree service professional and the port of Anacortes.
