Normal pickups will be established on a standard basis per customer (e.g., one cart per week, two carts per week). When this standard is exceeded, extra refuse will only be picked up in city prepaid bags or by special haul.

A. The city will provide prepaid bags for extra refuse collection. Costs to citizens of Anacortes shall be established by city council ordinance per refuse collection bag, which will be prepaid. Bags shall be available at city hall at a price determined by city council ordinance, and shall also be available to certain retail outlets, at a price determined by city council ordinance, who are willing to provide this service at the same per bag price as charged by the city. Such bags shall not be used for disposal of any items not allowed to be disposed of under current city ordinances relating to solid waste disposal. All bags used by a consumer and set out for collection shall be set out at the normal location for can collection and shall be tied closed and secured so as to prevent escape of refuse.

B. Special Haul. Especially large or heavy items, and large quantities of refuse, shall be collected and charged as established by city council ordinance. Special arrangements for pick-up shall be made with the public works department. (Ord. 2953 § 1, 2015)
