The public defender’s office shall receive such compensation as shall be provided for in the annual current expense budget of the City of Anacortes. Compensation will be based upon the training, experience, and level of responsibility of the attorney. The City of Anacortes shall also provide the public defender’s office with adequate support staff and access to investigators to ensure the effective performance of defense counsel.
