Pursuant to Chapter 116 of the laws of 1965 of the state, as codified under RCW 42.24.080 , there is created the position of auditing officer for the city, and the finance director or his or her deputy is designated as the auditing officer, to carry out the duties of auditing before payment all claims presented against the city by persons furnishing materials, rendering services or performing labor, or for any other contractual purpose, all as more fully set forth in the above mentioned 42.24.080 RCW, the provisions of which are incorporated by reference in this section and constitute as much a part of this chapter as though set forth in full.
